Hot on the text

Single-word statements and cheeky slogans emerge as a fun detail and motif update for women's accessories and jewellery. While harking back to classic nameplate jewellery, these are statement pieces so exaggerated scale is essential. Cursive or block capitals deliver the strongest message, with outlined or layered type making an impact for appliqué or print.

Astrid Andersen

In 2010, Danish born Astrid Andersen, graduated from the prestigious Royal College of Art, was a finalist in ITS NINE and nominated as Talent 2010 by Italian VOUGE.
Now based in both London and Copenhagen, Anderson produces her signature sportswear style for men and continues her exploration of mixing material.

Her Autumn/Winter 13 collection took on a retro bodybuilder theme as she played with the competitive nature of how many modern men dress. The catwalk exploded with Nylon bombers decorated with mink and fox fur, while gym-ready tracksuits were covered with maximality prints. She impressed everyone her fresh, metallic-tinged take on sportswear for MAN.

This metallic fabric and digital prints of big ‘bling’ ring mix with rose was very much channeling a American rappers and posers style.

The Rings in the Print are NBA championship rings
